Nourish your body with an extensive warm-up, Contact Improvisation fundamentals and approaches, and a concluding jam to integrate the information. Explore and fine tune your physical movement with two CI classes, one taught by Helen Goodrum and one by Jay Ruby. REGISTRATION LINK About the teachers: Helen Goodrum has an embodied practice spanning over three decades and has performed around the globe expanding her knowledge and skill as a dancer, stilter, aerialist and Rolfer. Helen has taught CI on stilts with The Carpetbag Brigade for the past decade and is a student of the Axis Syllabus International Research Community. When not dancing Helen has her own Rolfing Structural Integration business, Artful Healthcare in Prescott, Arizona. Jay Ruby is an actor and director with The Carpetbag Brigade where he has helped steward the research of Contact Improvisation with Acrobatic Stilts, Physical Theater and Butoh Dance. He has led community residencies and cross-cultural projects in Latin America, Europe, and Canada. He has studied CI with Nancy Stark Smith, Contraband, Steve Paxton, Kira Kirsch, Martin Keogh, Karl Frost and Cristina Crippa amongst others |
